Diory Hernandez hit a two-run homer in the eighth inning to help the Iowa Cubs hold off the Oklahoma City RedHawks on Saturday night.

The former Braves shortstop also hit a sacrifice fly in the sixth inning that gave Iowa a 2-0 advantage.

Mike Hessman smacked an RBI double in the top of the seventh to bring OKC within 2-1, but Hernandez' eighth inning bomb put an end to the comeback attempt.

Brett Oberholtzer allowed two runs in 6 2/3 innings for OKC, while Ty'Relle Harris earned the win, allowing one run in six innings. Jairo Asencio struck out two in a scoreless ninth to earn his fifth win of the season.

The RedHawks will go for the series win in the rubber match Sunday in Iowa.
