A metro mother is pleading for more information about her son's death.

Alex Ross' body was found in a car outside a Ramada Inn located in southwest Oklahoma City two weeks ago. Police are investigating it as a suspicious death, but Ross' mother thinks he was murdered.

Police and the family both agree Alex was under the influence of drugs at the time of his death, but how the subsequent investigation should be handled is being debated. And Michelle Ross, Alex's mother, is doing some investigating of her own.

Ross was last seen with a friend he met at rehab. On August 9 he disappeared with that girl. By August 10, she was too high to describe their whereabouts. By the time his younger brother found their mother's car in the parking lot of the Ramada Inn, it was too late.

Questions of Alex' last moments haunt his mother. She is convinced one woman knows.

"I have gone two weeks without knowing what has happened to him. She is going to have to live with this, too, for the rest of her life," Michelle Ross said.

"We know that when someone dies of any overdose, which is what he appears to have died from,  that it is difficult to determine whether that overdose was an accidental overdose, intentional, or something sinister," Capt. Dexter Nelson of the Oklahoma City Police Department said.

"They are defining who my son was. He was the valedictorian, he wrestled, he played golf, he was loved by many. To define him as drug addict and to say there is no foul play... there is foul play," Michelle said.

Police aren't naming the friend, but several sources tell News 9 that she is in rehab. They are waiting on the cause of death to be determined by the medical examiner.
