Former Tulsa TV Anchor Formally Charged In Felony Meth Case

Jerry Giordano, 50, has been charged with unlawful possession of a controlled drug following his Sunday arrest.

A former Tulsa TV anchor on Friday was slapped with felony drug charges in Tulsa County District Court.

Jerry Giordano, listed in court records as Gerald Giordano, is a former anchor and reporter for ABC-affiliate KTUL in Tulsa. He was officially charged with unlawful possession of a controlled drug (methamphetamine), which can carry a sentence of up to five years in the state penitentiary and/or a $5,000 fine.

Giordano was arrested in midtown late Sunday after police say a traffic stop revealed he had no insurance on his truck, and officers found a "dirty crystalline substance" in a door panel and a "large rock of crystalline substance" in the door handle.

He was booked into the Tulsa County jail and released after posting $2,500 bond.

In 2008, Giordano entered a blind plea on a DUI charge.

He worked for KTUL for 16 years and left in 2010. According to his LinkedIn profile, he is a realtor with Coldwell Banker Select.
