Man Charged With Armed Robbery After Stealing iPhones

A man is charged for forcefully stealing five iPhones from a group of people taking pictures of the Devon Tower.

Darius Dewayne Crutchfield is charged with 5 counts of Armed Robbery from an incident that took place on July 28.  Crutchfield is accused of approaching the victims as the were photographing the Devon Tower with their Apple iPhones.

As Crutchfield approached the victims he pulled out a gun and ordered the victims to place their phones on the ground and walk away in the opposite direction.

As the victims walked away, Crutchfield grabbed the phones and got into a vehicle that was being driven by his friend.  One of the victims was able to get the license plate number and called the police.

Police were able to find the vehicle and talk to the driver who confirmed that Crutchfield did enter his car with several iPhones and a gun.

One of the five victims was able to identify Crutchfied from a photo line-up.
