OSU Welcomes Largest Freshman Class In School, State History

STILLWATER, Oklahoma -

Oklahoma State University will welcome the biggest freshman class in the university's history during new student convocation Friday afternoon.

The 2012 OSU freshman class is made up of 4,306 students; a 10 percent increase from last year's freshman class. It's the largest freshman class at a public university in state history.

"This is exciting news for Oklahoma State University, the entire Cowboy community and the state of Oklahoma," said OSU President Burns Hargis. "These numbers reflect the exemplar education and student experience we offer at OSU."

Sixty-three percent of the freshman class are from Oklahoma; 37 percent come from 46 different states.
