At least two men who severely beat a man at a southwest Oklahoma City bar are on the run, but police hope the public will help put the suspects in jail.

The attack took place around 2 a.m. on August 11 at Chihuahua Bar at 3524 S.W. 29th Place. That's near S.W. 29th Street and Newscastle Road. Police say two witnesses saw the 35-year-old victim arguing with his girlfriend outside the bar. At some point, two men approached the couple and attacked the victim with a baseball bat, but it's not known why they beat the man.

The suspects beat the victim so badly he had to be hospitalized. He's still in the hospital recovering from his injuries. According to a police report, the victim's girlfriend drove away from the scene as the man was being attacked because she was afraid. She called a friend to go to the scene and check on the man.

Police say no one seems to have witnessed the beating except the victim's girlfriend. Police say it was difficult to obtain information from the victim because he spoke little English and appeared to be intoxicated.

Police say at least two suspects are involved, but there may be more. Investigators only have a vague description of the men. They're Hispanic, and stand between 5 feet 7 inches and 5 feet 8 inches tall. They weigh about 170 pounds. The men were driving a white Honda that may have been a Civic.

Anyone with information about the attack is urged to call Crime Stoppers at (405) 235-7300.
