OKLAHOMA CITY -

Several people rushed out of their apartments in northwest Oklahoma City Wednesday morning when flames swept through the building.

Around 7:30 a.m., a fire erupted at Sonterra Apartments near N.W. 10th Street and N. Council Road. Firefighters quickly arrived and doused the flames.

Medics treated a woman following the fire. She was taken to the hospital, but is expected to be all right. Several small pets were killed in the blaze.

Firefighters say it appears the fire started on the outside of the building. Four units were heavily damaged, and at least two people will have to find another place to live.

Investigators are trying to determine what started the fire.
