Judge Rules Man Accused Of Killing Del City Toddler To Stand Trial

DEL CITY, Oklahoma -

A man accused of abusing and killing a Del City toddler will go on trial for murder.

Roderick Jackson is charged with the murder of his girlfriend's daughter, 22-month old Nkya Cardile. A judge ruled Tuesday that Jackson will go to trial on a murder charge.

Police say Jackson took an unconscious Nkya to a neighbor's apartment for help. But they couldn't revive her. They then called 9-1-1.

The little girl died April third and police say she had obvious signs of abuse.

Prosecutors expect the trial to begin this fall.
