Apricot Cherry Cream Bars

Ingredients:

1 box yellow cake mix

1 stick unsalted butter

2 egg

1 cup sliced almonds

1 jar apricot preserves

1/2 cup chopped dried cherries

1 package cream cheese, softened

1 tablespoon amaretto

1/2 cup sugar

2 tablespoon amaretto liqueur

2 tablespoon flour

Directions:

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Spray a 9x13 baking pan with non-stick cooking spray. In a large bowl combine yellow cake mix, melted butter, 1 egg and sliced almonds. It will form a large crumbly ball. Reserve 1 cup for topping and set aside. Press the remaining into the bottom of your pan. Spread apricot preserves over the top and sprinkle with dried cherries.

In a medium sized bowl beat together the cream cheese, amaretto, sugar and flour. Spread over the jam and sprinkle with leftover crumbles. Place into hot oven and cook for 25-30 minutes. Remove from the oven and cool. Store in the refrigerator and cut into bars to serve.
