A man and woman are in critical condition after a rollover accident on old highway 69 in Pittsburg County Friday night.

According to the police report, 37-year-old Elbert Bernard of Crowder, Okla. and his passenger, 19-year-old Kristen French of Canadian Okla., were heading northbound on US69 in a 1992 Mercury vehicle.

Just before 7 p.m. and about a mile from the town of Canadian, the vehicle departed the roadway to the left for an unknown reason. When the vehicle hit the ditch it began to roll one time, running through a barbwire fence, coming to rest upright.

Bernard and French were life-flighted to Saint John's Hospital in Tulsa. Neither was wearing a seatbelt. The vehicle's airbags did not deploy.
