Eastbound I-40 Reopened After Fatal Crash

Traffic on eastbound Interstate 40 is moving again after emergency crews cleared the roadway following a deadly accident Friday afternoon.

The accident occurred on eastbound I-40 near Interstate 35 in Oklahoma City.

The single-car accident happened around 1:45 p.m. Friday. The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says the driver hit an item in the roadway. The driver lost control, hit a wall and the car rolled over. One person was killed.

The victim has not been identified.

Traffic was temporarily diverted off of eastbound I-40 onto Shields.
