I made a simple post on Facebook Sunday after witnessing something that really irritates me, and I was stunned by the outpouring of support.

I wrote: "Gentlemen, we hold doors for ladies! Tired of seeing clods barge in front of their wives and girlfriends. Man up!"

People melted down my Facebook page "liking" that comment.

It's true though, I see so many guys, mainly younger I have to say, barging into buildings in front of the ladies there with.

Parents are we not teaching our boys to hold the door?

If I'd done that my parents would have jerked me half way across the parking lot!

And the other display of wimpy discourteous "manhood" if I can call it that, that really drives me crazy is guys who remain seated on buses, in waiting areas, anywhere that ladies and older people are having to stand.

Get up, give up your seat.

If the person is somehow offended that you did that, apologize, and remain standing anyway because you're a gentlemen and that's what gentlemen do or at least they use to.
