OKC Man Arrested For Raping Woman While She Was Sleeping

OKLAHOMA CITY -

Oklahoma City police arrested a 53-year-old man who is accused of raping a woman while she was sleeping.

According to police, officers responded to the report of a rape in the 1000 block of W. Sheridan Tuesday morning.

The victim, a 48-year-old woman, said she was sleeping in a transient camp, located in a field behind 909 S.W. 6th Street, when she woke up to John Harvey Roush having sex with her. The victim claimed when she went to sleep, she was completely dressed, and she was naked when she woke up.

According to the police report, the victim then began yelling and woke up the other people at the camp. The victim's friend and boyfriend then pulled Roush off of her, and took Roush's ID.

Officers were able to locate Roush and they took him into custody.

The victim was taken to the hospital for a rape exam.
