Broken Arrow firefighters said they were able to extinguish a fire before it completely destroyed a home early Wednesday morning east of their community in Wagoner County.

The home is located in the 5900 block of 257th East Avenue.

Firefighters got the call just after midnight.

Heat and water supply problems hampered their efforts. Oak Grove Fire was called in to assist after flames sparked a nearby grass fire.

Fire officials say a resident of the home was able to get out safely.

A family member of the homeowners told the News on 6 that the home was a total loss.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
