Crews battled three grass fires between Newcastle and Chickasha Tuesday morning.
NEWCASTLE, Oklahoma -
Crews spent more than two hours Tuesday morning battling grass fires between Newcastle and Chickasha along the H.E. Bailey Turnpike.
The first fire broke out around 7:30 a.m. just south of State Highway 4. Within an hour, two more grass fires popped up.
Fire crews from Tuttle and Bridge Creek fought the flames as they spread across the dry grass. By 9:30 a.m., all three fires were out.
The fires did not damage any structures or affect traffic in the area. It's not known yet what started the fires.
