A 50-year-old man faces several charges after Oklahoma City police say he broke into a woman's house and began living there rent free.

The woman called police on July 14. She said approximately eight people had moved into her empty rental house in the 1800 block of N.W. 22nd Street without permission. She said she told the subjects they were trespassing, but they refused to leave.

Police went to the house, and the people inside turned off all the lights and refused to come to the door. Officers forced their way in and the subjects ran out the back door. An officer and his K9 partner, Harry, gave chase.

The dog found suspect Ricky Case trying to hide under a pile of clothes. According to a police report, the K9, Harry, bit Case on the leg and attempted to drag him out. Police say Case grabbed Harry's muzzle and squeezed, making the dog whimper in pain.

Police said they ordered Case to let go, but he refused. They said they had to hit him on the back to force him to release the dog. They arrested Case on several counts, including assault and battery on a police dog, second-degree burglary, and obstructing a police officer.
