Drivers will notice something new Monday as they hunt for a place to park in downtown Oklahoma City: new high-tech parking meters.

The new meters went online at 7 a.m. The meters are completely solar-powered, and drivers can use change or a credit card to pay for time. Eventually, people may even be able to pay using a smart phone app.

It will cost 75 cents for 30 minutes. Drivers will receive a receipt with a sticky back that should be placed on the driver's side of the windshield. Drivers can then switch spots without paying again if they still have time left.
