Medical Board Ends Probation For Recovering Plastic Surgeon
OKLAHOMA CITY - A plastic surgeon who's fought a public battle with addiction is no longer on probation.
The Oklahoma Board of Medical Licensure and Supervision voted unanimously Thursday to end Dr. Lori E. Hansen's "indefinite probation" for past painkiller and alcohol addiction.
Hansen, who is married to former Oklahoma County District Attorney Wes Lane, lost her medical license in 2002 and 2006 for abusing painkillers and alcohol.
Although the board reinstated her license, she couldn't write prescriptions. The board lifted that restriction on Thursday.
Hansen says she has been sober for seven years.
