Oklahoma City Thunder center Kendrick Perkins underwent a successful procedure on his right groin, the team announced today.
Perkins injured his groin in the first quarter of the Thunder's playoff series clinching victory in Game 4 against the Dallas Mavericks on May 5. Perkins aggravated the injury on May 14 in Game 1 of the Western Conference Semifinals against the Los Angeles Lakers.
This past season, Perkins started in 65 games for the Thunder, averaging 5.1 points, 6.6 rebounds and 1.1 blocks in 26.8 minutes per game.
Perkins is expected to miss 4-6 weeks before returning to normal offseason activities.
