An early-morning armed robbery at an Owasso convenience store has an 18-year-old man behind bars Thursday.
After authorities used surveillance video to track him, Jeremiah Berbee, of Owasso, confessed the crime to police, a news release said.
About 3 a.m., a clerk at Kum and Go, 14505 E. 86th St. North, called 911 to report that a man, who had his face concealed, brandished a pistol and demanded money before fleeing.
Owasso police officers viewed surveillance video to gain a more detailed description of the robber, his clothing and his vehicle.
The vehicle description led investigators to the Greens at Owasso Apartments, 13600 E. 84th St North, where they enlisted the help of that facility's management and surveillance video to find the suspect's general direction. A K-9 officer then picked up a trail to Berbee, who was inside an apartment.
Police arrested Berbee without incident. He is being held at the Owasso city jail before being transferred to the Rogers County Jail on complaints of robbery by force or fear, pointing a firearm and assault while masked.
All items used in the robbery, plus the money stolen from the store, were recovered by police.
