OKLAHOMA CITY - The mother of a murdered teenager spoke to News 9 about her profound pain and a family's senseless loss.

Two nights ago, a gunman took the life of 15-year-old Richard Morales in northwest Oklahoma City.

Morales' mother says there's no reason her son had to die.

Police say Morales was shot and killed in the 1100 block of N.W. 105th Street late Sunday night.

Family and friends staged a car wash Tuesday to raise money to help cover funeral costs.

While police don't have any suspects in custody, Morales' mother, Karen, remains optimistic the person responsible will be caught.

"I think they are doing the best they can do from the information they are getting from people," she said.

Police say there may be multiple suspects involved in Morales' murder. The suspect vehicle is described as an early 2000s model gray Ford Focus.
