OKC Man Accused Of Soliciting Sex From Teen, Caught In Online Sting

Canadian County deputies arrested a 58-year-old man in June after investigators say he arranged to have sex with a 15-year-old girl he met online.

Michael Dubala was arrested on four counts of soliciting sexual conduct of a minor, and one count of lewd and indecent proposals or acts to a child. Investigators say Dubala thought he was chatting online with a teenage girl from Mustang, but he was actually corresponding with an undercover officer from the Canadian County Sheriff's Office.

Dubala chatted with the "girl" for two weeks before arranging to meet at Fireworks City U.S.A. just east of Mustang. He asked her not to wear any underwear, and he would give her $10 to buy a pair he wanted her to wear before they had sex.

When Dubala arrived at the meeting spot, deputies approached him. They said Dubala tried to drive away, but deputies used their cars to box him in. Dubala was arrested and searched. Deputies said they found a single $10 bill in his pocket that Dubala allegedly admitted he was going to give to the girl to buy panties.

Dubala was booked into the Canadian County jail, and bond was set at $125,000. Canadian County Sheriff Randall Edwards said this should be a lesson for parents.

"Parents need to always be aware of who their children are online with, not only to keep them from being sexually abused but to keep them from being killed as well," said Sheriff Edwards. "I believe any predator is capable of killing their victim if they believe it would keep them from being caught or exposed."
