Toddler Drowns In Waurika Lake

WAURIKA, Oklahoma -

A 3-year-old boy drowned early Saturday morning at Waurika Lake in Jefferson County.

According to the police report, James Traywick Wyler was at a campsite at the Chisholm Camp Grounds Swimming Beach at Waurika Lake with his mother and her boyfriend.

At around 12:30 a.m. the boy wandered out of a tent and into the lake.

It is not clear how long the toddler was submerged, but both the mother and boyfriend found the child in 10-18 inches of water.

He was transported to Jefferson County Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
