Vacation-ing

Posted: Updated:

It being July, or the dead of summer, it's a time when lots of folks, including meteorologists, take vacation. I can't speak for the rest of the weather department, but I usually take one big vacation every year followed by one or two smaller ones. By big vacation, I mean somewhere outside of Oklahoma/Texas (where my family is). It usually includes air travel and a hotel stay for several days.

This year, I've made it a point to take most of my time off to visit my family in north Texas before they move to the northeastern U.S. I was born and raised about an hour north of Dallas in Sherman, so it will always be a special place. And I want to make sure I get as much time as possible there before things change. Plus, it's quite relaxing there, which is always a plus. I'm going to try to make it home again later this Fall.

My big trip this year comes in a couple of months when I get to visit eastern Florida for an entire week. I know the weather isn't exactly cool there this time of year (or ever, really), but it'll be fun to get away and enjoy the sun for a week. I enjoy the whole process of visiting/staying somewhere different every once in a while. My big trip last year was with my family to the northeast where they will eventually be living. Being my first trip to New England, I can tell you I enjoyed it very much. Not a bad place to set up shop. Next year, I'm already considering Vegas. That'll be a blog post in and of itself! ;)

Now it's time for you to tell me where YOUR favorite vacation/stay-cation spots are!

  • Spring is without question my favorite season of the year, but fall isn't too far behind.  Thankfully I'm not an allergy sufferer, or I suspect my choice would be different.
Spring is without question my favorite season of the year, but fall isn't too far behind.  I suspect one of the big reasons I can say that is because I don't suffer from allergies the way many of you do. In my blog today I will take a closer look at what's causing problems and when it'll be over!
