Down 5-4 entering the eighth inning, the Oklahoma City RedHawks sent nine batters to the plate and scored six runs to propel them to a 10-9 victory over the New Orleans Zephyrs.

The RedHawks had to hold on against a ninth-inning Zephyrs rally, but were able to come away with the win.

The fireworks of the eighth inning gave OKC their fourth consecutive victory after dropping five of their previous seven games.

Adalberto Flores picked up his fifth win of the year for OKC, while Dan Jennings took the loss for New Orleans.

The Zephyrs got the scoring started in the bottom of the first inning with a Gil Velazquez RBI single to center that scored Kevin Mattison.

The RedHawks countered with two runs of their own in the top of the second, but New Orleans scored three of their own in the bottom of the frame to take a 4-2 lead.

Jimmy Paredes homered to right-center field to draw the RedHawks within a run, but an RBI single from Donnie Murphy in the bottom of the sixth extended the lead to 5-3 in favor of the home team.

In the top of the seventh, Landon Powell hit a solo home run to close the deficit to one, before the RedHawks' massive outburst in the eighth.

The RedHawks' six runs came on just five hits, with only one of them going for extra bases. However, despite the fantastic inning, the game was far from over.

The Zephyrs wouldn't quit, scoring a run in the bottom of the eighth before putting up three more in the bottom of the ninth.

With runners on the corners, Nick Green singled to center to score Chris Coghlan, and move Bryan Petersen to second. Murphy followed that with a double that scored Petersen. An RBI groundout from Clint Sammons scored Green, putting the tying run on third in the form of Murphy.

However, Hector Ambriz was able to get Chris Aguila to fly out to right fielder J.B. Shuck to end the game.

The RedHawks and Zephyrs will be back at it again tomorrow, with first pitch scheduled for 7 p.m.
