An Oklahoma City city councilman says it's time to consider redirecting the eighth of a penny sales tax earmarked for the Oklahoma City to street improvements or maybe public safety.
I say wrong, let's keep improving our world-class zoo with that money. Here's what you had to say.
KSooner first: "Let's keep the funding of the zoo the way it is. At least, we know where that money is being spent."
Mike says: "1/8th of penny tax gets you a pretty good return on investment. The Zoo has come a long way."
Coy writes: "People like this city councilman have been trying to keep Oklahoma City small time for a couple of decades now. Why move backward?"
From Mischa: "I visit the zoo with my children often. Very affordable with a season pass. I rarely see any visitors that are obese or smoking. Places like the zoo are not only having a positive impact on the image and economics of OKC, but on public health as well."
Finally Renee asks: "If you visit the Zoo on any given day, you will see people of all different shapes and sizes out walking. Isn't that what the mayor wanted - people getting more exercise? Where else can you do that and see all kinds of exotic plants and animals locally at a reasonable price?"
I'm Kelly Ogle and that's YOUR 2 Cents.
