OKLAHOMA CITY -

Two 17-year-old teenagers were arrested after a road rage and shooting incident on Interstate 44 near Lake Hefner Monday night.

Officers responded to the 3900 block of North I-44 at around 8:30 p.m. Monday. A woman told police she was going north on I-44, towards Lake Hefner, when a blue Dodge Durango started chasing her.

The victim said someone from the Durango started shooting at her. She was not injured.

Two witnesses at the scene said they also saw the Durango chasing a white car at a high rate of speed, possibly 80 to 100 MPH.

The Durango had crashed and rolled off the edge of the roadway when officers arrived. However, a 17-year-old girl crawled out of the vehicle and fled the scene on foot towards several houses, police said.

Another witness said he saw the girl jump over a fence and walk into his yard, located in the 3300 block of N.W. 40th Street. The girl then pulled out a revolver pistol and a brown paper bag full of unspent .38 special rounds, and threw them under the front of the witness's car, according to police.

Police were able to apprehend the girl and took her into custody.

The driver of the Durango, another 17-year-old juvenile, received minor injuries from the crash. Police say the driver did not have a driver's license and was also arrested.
