Several hours before any of those operations began Saturday night, an employee of the Oklahoma County Sheriff's Department was injured in a head-on collision in Southwest Oklahoma City.

Sheriff John Whetsel says the driver of the other vehicle is suspected of being intoxicated.

Investigators say 28-year-old Steven Williams was driving a vehicle that struck a car being driven by 47-year-old Nikki Cline. Cline is a clerical worker in the jail.

The accident occurred just 20 minutes after Cline had left work at 1 a.m. Saturday. Sheriff Whetsel says Cline suffered seven broken ribs and a punctured lung in the crash.

"We're thankful she was now more seriously injured than she was," Whetzel said.
