He's On A Roll And Can't Stop!

I was putting some of Gage's clothes away in drawers a few days ago and I laid him on his back on the carpet with a toy. The next thing I know I turn around and he's on his tummy! It was a first but now that he's figured out how to do it, he is doing it even in his sleep... which isn't necessarily a good thing. That's because he's rolling in his crib onto his stomach but poor thing can't figure out how to roll back on his back, and it makes him very angry! I was looking at his video baby monitor last night rooting him on. Hoping he would flip back, but it never happened. So up I got at 2:30 to roll him over. Then Nick got up at 3:30. It also floors me how much a baby, who can't crawl, can move so much!

Gage's First Time 30,000 Feet Up

I'm happy to say we successfully made it through Gage's first flight. Believe me, I was prepared to pass out apologies and even free drinks to my fellow passengers, but it wasn't needed. A few weeks ago I was flying out for a news story and luckily was able to bring Gage with me (my mom was able to come in and watch Gage while I worked). I settled into my seat and it was funny to watch people board. Since I was flying Southwest, it was open seating and no one wanted to sit next to Gage and me. And then I realized a year ago, that would be my last place to sit, too - right next to a baby - you never know what you're going to get! But since it was a full flight, a lucky business man got the privilege. I told him I thought Gage would be good (ha - what do I know!), and he said 'no worries, I have 4 kids at home.' It made me feel better. I just made sure I was either nursing Gage or he was sleeping and that seemed to be the trick. He never really cried. We're going to fly again in a month and I'm hoping for a repeat!
