Tens of thousands are being evacuated in Colorado because of wildfires, but Oklahoma won't be sending extra resources their way.

The State Forester right now says Oklahoma can't spare sending crews out of state.

The drought index shows bone-dry conditions in the panhandle, eastern and southwestern Oklahoma. And with the July 4th holiday approaching, state officials believe fire crews will be best utilized here at home.

"Our primary deal is to stay home for Oklahoma," says State Forester, George Geissler

The state did just sent two firefighting coordinators to a new fire in Montana.

However, the main group of firefighters who battle on the front lines, along with major equipment will not be leaving the state.
