BNSF Railway Co. has earmarked $92 million for improvements this year in Oklahoma.
The Fort Worth-based company on Wednesday announced the funds will be used for maintenance and rail capacity projects.
BNSF says the work will include 667 miles of track surfacing and undercutting work, plus replacement of 29 miles of rail and about 196,000 ties. The railroad also plans signal upgrades.
The company says the Oklahoma investments are part of BNSF's total $3.9 billion in overall capital improvements this year.
