RedHawks Drop Series Finale To Omaha 5-1

Oklahoma City lost its third straight game in an afternoon dual against the Storm Chasers.

The Omaha Storm Chasers topped Oklahoma City 5-1 Tuesday afternoon to win the series 3-1.

Omaha's strong pitching was once again dominant over OKC batters as starter Will Smith went 7.2 innings striking out seven while only giving up one unearned run.

The game started off with a bang as Omaha's Anthony Seratelli leadoff with a triple down the right field line. He came around to score when Johnny Giavotella connected on a sacrifice fly giving the Storm Chasers a 1-0 lead.

In the fifth, started with a walk and followed it up with an RBI double from Kevin Kouzmanoff making it 2-0. RedHawks' starter Armando Galarraga was able to get out of the inning without any more damage.

Omaha added to their lead in the eighth, scoring three runs on five consecutive hits off Jose Valdez.

The RedHawks scored their first run of the game on a fielding error in the bottom of the eighth.

The RedHawks threatened again in the ninth with runners on second and third with one out by Omaha's Brandon Sisk struck out Brad Snyder and Jordan Kreke each looking to end the threat and the game.

Galarraga (1-1) pitched six solid innings in his first start at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark since August 30, 2007. He gave up two runs on five hits and three walks while striking out three.

RedHawks third baseman Brett Wallace went 3-for-4 in the loss.

Oklahoma City now hits the road to face Iowa for a three game series. Game one is set for Wednesday at 7:05 p.m.
