A smoke alarm helped an elderly couple escape a house fire in Norman.
NORMAN, Oklahoma -
A smoke detector helped a couple in Norman escape a house fire early Tuesday morning.
The smoke alarm sounded around 3:30 a.m. at a house on Leslie Lane near Boyd Street and Berry. The elderly couple left the house and called 911.
Firefighters arrived within minutes and put out the flames, which heavily damaged the garage and attic. No one was hurt.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
