The city of Braggs in Muskogee County said Monday one of its four water wells has gone dry and residents are being asked to conserve water.

Town Clerk Rebecca Smith says they have 416 customers and have asked all to stop any outdoor watering and filling their swimming pools.

She says they've asked and received permission to open up a shared water line between Camp Gruber and the city of Braggs.

Smith says they have a small, older water system and the three remaining water pumps are having a hard time keeping up with demand. With the addition of the Camp Gruber water, she says residents still need to conserve.

She says the aquifer where they get their water relies on rainwater and without rain, the aquifer level is dropping.

Braggs is located southeast of Muskogee.
