Doug Davis scattered four hits over six innings of work as the Omaha Storm Chasers knocked off the Oklahoma City RedHawks, 6-2 on a hot night at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark.
Davis struck out six and walked two batters, giving up zero runs in the process. OKC managed just five hits total for the entire game.
Paul Clemens took the loss for the RedHawks after giving up eight hits and four runs in his seven innings of work.
Altogether, Omaha racked up 11 hits against Clemens and reliever Hector Ambriz.
The Storm Chasers drew first blood in the opening frame, as Anthony Seratelli blasted a solo home run to right field. Omaha added another run in the third on a Tony Abreu RBI single.
In the fifth inning, the Storm Chasers extended their lead to 4-0. Wil Myers doubled and Max Ramirez walked before David Lough tripled to right to bring both around to score.
OKC got two runs back in the seventh on a Brandon Barnes two-run home run, but that was the last hit OKC would get off Omaha pitching.
Omaha scored two more runs on a bases-loaded single by Ramirez for the final margin.
Ramirez and Derrick Robinson each went 2-4 to pace the Storm Chasers, while Barnes was the only RedHawks player with two hits.
The two teams will be back at it for the third game of the four-game series tomorrow night in OKC. First pitch is set for 7:05 p.m.
