Two Men Charged With Murder, Arson In Midwest City

Two men arrested in the death of a Midwest City man are now charged in the case.

Charges were filed against Stephen Segar, 29, and Kelly Charty, 38, on Thursday in the death of Gary Scheetz. Each face one county of murder in the first degree, conspiracy to commit a felony and arson in the first degree.

On June 6 around 8:41 p.m. a house fire was reported at 309 W. Lilac in Midwest City. When emergency crews arrived, Scheetz was found dead inside.

According to police reports, a gas can was lying next to Scheetz. Police began a homicide investigation that eventually led to the arrest of Segar and Charty.
