An Oklahoma County judge denied bond Tuesday for a 38-year-old man accused of carrying a portable meth lab inside a duffle bag.

Police arrested Wendall Dearing on June 11 in southwest Oklahoma City. Officers responded to a call at the Biltmore Hotel that someone was breaking into cars. When police arrived, they saw Dearing and 28-year-old Kenna Lansdale carrying duffle bags.

Police stopped the two and discovered Dearing had an outstanding warrant. As officers were about to search Dearing, he told them he had an explosive device in his pocket.

Police temporarily closed S.W. 3rd Street while they checked Dearing. He was not carrying anything dangerous.

Dearing's next court date is July 5.
