The Round Rock Express rebounded from a game one loss to Oklahoma City with a 2-0 shutout of the RedHawks Friday night.

Oklahoma City managed only four hits on the night while the Express pounded out nine and scored early to take game two.

The Express scored the only runs of the game in the bottom of the first.

Julio Borbon singled to center to get things started and two batters and one out later, Ryan Spilborghs followed with a ground ball to left center moving Borbon to second.

Brad Nelson's flyout to right moved Borbon to third with two outs. Joey Butler continued the offensive productivity with a line drive single to center scoring Borbon and advancing Spilborghs to third. Finally, Yangervis Solarte added yet another single to center that plated Spilborghs putting Round Rock up 2-0.

From there on out it was a pitchers dual to the end as OKC efforted a comeback, but Strong pitching by the Express extinguished any spark the RedHawks started.

Round Rock starter Martin Perez struck out five and allowed only one hit in his seven innings of service to pick up his fourth win of the season. Mark Hamburger came in to close out the game in the eighth and finished with one strikeout while allowing three hits in his second save on the year.

Brian Bass is credited with the loss after six innings on the mound for OKC. He finished with one strikeout while allowing nine hits. Mickey Storey also tallied two innings with two strikeouts.

Round Rock was paced by Joey Butler's one hit and one RBI while Solarte went one-for-four with an RBI.

The two teams return to action in Round Rock for game three on Saturday at 7:05 p.m.
