Edmond Police Investigating Burglary, Vandalism At Aquatic Center

Edmond Police are investigating a burglary and vandalism at the Pelican Bay Aquatic Center that occurred sometime overnight between Monday June 12 and Tuesday June 13.

According to the police report, a burglar or burglars broke into the park located at 1024 S. Bryant Ave. and entered into a building through a shuttered window after first scaling a fence. The window and shutters were not secured.

Once inside the building, the suspect(s) stole approximately $1,000 worth of merchandise from the snack bar, and vandalized another $500 worth of merchandise by pouring snow cone syrup all over it.

"They didn't take any money but they took a lot of food stores and damaged a lot of equipment," said Edmond Police Sgt. Chad Langley.

There was also about $400 in damage to a computer keyboard, mouse, and credit card reader, also caused by snow cone syrup. Langley believes there are several suspects in this case. 

The suspect(s) left a notepad message "TOMORROW NIGHT WE TAKE OVER THE WORLD" that could be read when the computer was turned on. An employee from information technology was able to determine a website that was accessed from the computer at 3:40 a.m. the night of the burglary.

A key to a lock gate was found at the scene, and police believe the suspect(s) used it to exit the park. Police believe the burglary was committed by kids, and expect to make an arrest in the case soon.
