The New Orleans pitching staff allowed just two hits and four walks to Oklahoma City batters Wednesday, propelling the Zephyrs to a 3-0 win over the RedHawks.
The Zephyrs scored a run in the fifth and two in the seventh, which was more than enough for New Orleans, who used four pitchers to handcuff the RedHawks the entire game, which lasted just two hours and 43 minutes.
After winning nine consecutive games, including 14 in a row at home, the RedHawks have dropped four of their past six games, all to the Zephyrs. Oklahoma City won't have to face the Zephyrs again until July 4 in New Orleans.
Brad Snyder and Carlos Corporan collected the only hits for the RedHawks, who had two errors, a runner picked off first base, and a runner caught stealing.
The Zephyrs collected seven hits and six walks off three RedHawks pitchers, with starter Wes Musick taking the loss. New Orleans starter Alex Sanabia moved to 5-4 for the season with the win, and Chris Hatcher worked the ninth for his second save of the year.
The RedHawks continue their 11-game road trip Thursday, traveling to take on Round Rock in a four-game series.
