Jed's Weather Blog: Spring Tornado Season Recap

OKLAHOMA CITY -

The year 2011 ended up having the second most number of tornadoes for the state at 119 for the year. In any given year, Oklahoma averages about 55 tornadoes per year. So far for the first six months of this year, the preliminary number is sitting at 57 tornadoes. Even if we have no more tornadoes, we will end up above normal for the year.

Spring tornado season runs from March 15 through June 15.
