Authorities say two people were injured when a small airplane crashed in the Oklahoma Panhandle.

Federal Aviation Administration spokesman Lynn Lunsford says a 4-seat, low-wing Mooney had just left the airport in Hooker when it crashed in a field northeast of Guymon about 3:20 p.m. Tuesday. Lunsford said emergency personnel reported that the occupants suffered broken bones, but he didn't have any information about their medical conditions.

According to FAA records, registration for the single-engine, fixed-wing Mooney M20F is pending. The listing includes an address in Cheyenne, Wyo., but no name.

Oklahoma Highway Patrol Trooper Betsy Randolph says the National Transportation Safety Board has asked the agency to secure the scene.

Lunsford says the FAA is investigating the crash.
