A manhunt in Grady County ended peacefully Monday night after the suspect turned himself into authorities.

Police launched the manhunt Monday afternoon for Thomas Dunevant in the Naples area, just south of Highway 39 near County Street 2935 Monday afternoon. He is accused of opening fire at his girlfriend.

According to police, officers responded to a domestic disturbance call, however, when they arrived at the scene, Dunevant had already fled the area. Police say he was armed with a shotgun.

Dunevant was taken into custody on charges of felon in possession of weapon, according to authorities. He was previously convicted of illegal possession of sawed-off shotgun, assault with dangerous weapon, kidnapping, and many other charges.
