CHOCTAW COUNTY, Oklahoma -

A woman from Hugo, Oklahoma, hospitalized in critical condition after she was hit by a semi early Saturday morning near Grant.

It happened at 2:30 a.m., about four miles south of Grant on U.S. 271 in Choctaw County.

According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, the victim, 31-year-old Julie Davidson, was in the roadway for an unknown reason when she was hit by a 2003 Volvo semi driven by 65-year-old Jimmy Brewster.

The semi was southbound on U.S. 271 at that time, and the driver swerved in an attempt to miss Jackson, the trooper's report states.

Jackson was air-lifted to Parkland Hospital in Plane, Texas, with head, arm, leg, trunk-internal, and trunk-external injuries. She is in critical condition.

Brewster, of Lindale, Texas, was not injured.

Troopers listed Jackson's condition as "apparently normal" in the OHP report.
