Oklahoma City Transforming For NBA Finals

With Oklahoma City set to host the first game of the NBA finals next Tuesday, the city is readying itself as fast as it can. 

Downtown OKC Inc. says Friday morning they will begin stringing blue and orange lights all over downtown. 

"If someone wants to get involved in the downtown area...brainstorm different ideas, and we're footing the bill for a lot of this stuff, including artwork. So if someone wants to participate, just give us a call," Downtown OKC Inc. spokesperson, Gentry McKeown.

A local artist has already begun painting Thunder Themes on the windows of many downtown buildings. 

Over at 43^rd and Western, businessman Mike Harris used an actual photo print of James Harden to fashion a huge beard out of outdoor carpeting on the front of his Custom Concepts store.  He says he also plans to make large "Durantula" out of plywood he will hang on one side of his building. 

Harris says he is also going to use sheet metal to make a huge pair or red Russell Westbrook glasses he will hang on the building's other end.

"Tuesday's game we're gonna have a block party out here, big screen TV. Everybody come out and enjoy. We're working on permitting. Make sure you cross that ‘T' and dot that ‘I'. I will twice man," said Harris.

Enthusiasm reigns in OKC. Harris say he even got an email from someone in Turkey Friday, who saw the beard he made on the internet.  That email replied "Fear the Beard, go OKC!"
