Tulsa Police have released the identity of the city's latest homicide victim. She is Joyce Lozada, 68.

Police say she was found shot to death in a home in the 2000 block of North Delaware Wednesday night, after an officer-involved shooting outside.

Officers say they received a 911 hang up call from the home just after 10 p.m. When the first officer arrived, police say he was confronted by a man, identified as 57-year-old Jose Antonio Lozada leaving the home.

Jose Lozada was Joyce's estranged husband. Police say he refused the officer's command to drop a handgun and surrender. Police say officer Ian Adair fired, striking Lozada at least one time.

"It went pretty fast, by the time officers were dispatched, the officer gets out here and he's confronted with a deadly force situation. You know these situations are not easy. They're tense and rapidly evolving," Tulsa Police officer Leland Ashley said.

Tulsa Police found Joyce Lozada, who did not live in the home, dead from a gunshot wound to the head inside the home.

Joyce Lozada was granted an emergency protective order against her estranged husband in April.

"He threatened to harm me, he called me four or five harrassing me about coming to the house & getting his stuff," Joyce wrote in the petition dated April 17.

"Last night he showed up at our back door & called me on my cell phone... he was mad and wanted his stuff, he then said you'll be sorry & called 911. Police asked him to leave, in the past he grabbed me by my blouse & pushed me up against the kitchen stove," she wrote.

Jose  Lozada was taken to a Tulsa hospital where he is being treated for his wounds. At last word, he is listed in good condition.

TPD officer Leland Ashley said 28-year-old Adair, who has been with the department since Feb. 2007, has been put on routine administrative leave pending an investigation into the shooting.
