Tulsa Couple Arrested For Cultivating Marijuana In Presence Of Children

Tulsa police officers investigating what they thought was a meth lab uncovered a marijuana growing operation instead Monday night.

Tulsa police officers investigating what they thought was a meth lab uncovered a marijuana growing operation instead Monday night.

Police were dispatched to a home in the 6900 block of East Newton a little after 10 p.m. on Monday, June 4, 2012 to investigate a meth lab with children present.

Officers detained Charles Warner, 30, in the street.  Police say Charles Warner was unsteady on his feet and had slurred speech.

They detained Sarah Warner, 28, when she walked out of the house.

When officers approached the house they noticed a strong chemical odor coming from inside so they conducted a protective sweep, according to their report.

In a back room officers saw 15 five-gallon buckets "full of fertilizer with an irrigation system, grow lights and timers."

They saw marijuana leaves on the floor and a full plant in a corner of the room.

Police arrested Sarah Warner and Charles Warner, and Charles Warner's three children who were in the home were taken into protective custody.

He was booked on a complaint of cultivation in the presence of minors and public intoxication.  Sarah Warner was booked on a complaint of cultivation in the presence of minors.
