Oklahoma State pitcher Andrew Heaney was selected No. 9 overall by the Miami Marlins in the 2012 MLB Draft Monday.

The Cowboy junior pitcher appeared in 15 games for OSU this season, finishing the year with an 8-2 record and a 1.80 ERA. Heaney pitched 118.1 innings, allowing just 74 hits and striking out 140 batters for an opponent batting average of .180.

Miami is 31-23 on the season under manager Ozzie Guillen, and are currently coming off of back-to-back wins over the Philadelphia Phillies.
