Police Investigate Homicide In Northwest Oklahoma City

Oklahoma City police are investigating a homicide after a man transported to the hospital last Thursday was pronounced dead.

Oklahoma City police are investigating a homicide after a man transported to the hospital last Thursday was pronounced dead. Police say the victim had trauma to his body consistent with homicide.

EMSA officials say they originally thought the victim, 53-year-old Byron Lee Smith, was transported to St. Anthony Hospital due to medical conditions. The Medical Examiner's Officer later notified police that Smith had trauma to his body consistent to homicide.

Investigator went to the house where Smith was picked up, which is located in the 2100 block of N.W. 23rd Street. Officers processed the crime scene, however, they do not have any suspect information at this time.

This is the 38th homicide in Oklahoma City this year, according to police.
