CANADIAN COUNTY, Oklahoma -

A one-vehicle crash claimed the life of a Yukon man Sunday morning.

It happened at about 7:23 a.m. Sunday, on Interstate 40 eastbound just west of County Club Drive in Canadian County.

A 2008 Chevrolet Equinox driven by 20-year-old Joshua P. Sanders was eastbound on I-40 when it ran off the roadway to the left and struck a guardrail. The vehicle then ran into the guardrail two more times before crashing into a culvert.

Sanders was pronounced dead at the scene from head and trunk trauma. Troopers say he was not wearing a seatbelt.

The cause of the collision is still under investigation.
